The Protectorate was a secret community made up of members of the Great Houses. Their goal was to prevent the Valory Arch from being opened. This meant killing the keys. Evangeline Fox was the most recent key to unlock the Valory Arch.
Only two members of the Protectorate were ever revealed, Prince Tiberius Acadian, and Tabitha Fortuna, Matriarch of House Fortuna.
The symbol of the Protectorate was a broken skeleton key. Tiberius had a tattoo of the symbol on his neck.
