Kutlass Knightlinger is a journalist for The Whisper Gazette in Valenda. He is the cousin of Kristof Knightlinger.

Kutlass wears a flowing white silk shirt with a lacy jabot that cascades down to a pair of black leather pants. Evangeline notes that his pants are so tight, it's amazing he can move. He carries a black-feathered pen and an impossibly small notebook with him everywhere. He smells of mystery, musk, and imitation magic.[1]

Kutlass has been covering everything related to the return of the Fates in his column for the scandal newspaper, The Whisper Gazette.
Kutlass interviews Evangeline Fox after she is returned from being stone. He gives her the nickname "Valenda's Sweetheart Savior." He writes the article that nicknames Marisol Tourmaline "the Cursed Bride" after her fiancé Luc Navarro is attacked twice trying to marry her. He covers the events of the Week of Terror.
His cousin, Kristof Knightlinger, is a writer for The Daily Rumor in The Magnificent North. They share gossip with one another to use in their papers.
